The Pepperdine men's volleyball team tied a school record by
winning its 17th consecutive match, defeating UCLA 28-30, 30-26, 30-25,
30-21 at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Paul Carroll led the top-ranked Waves (20-1, 16-1 Mountain Pacific
Sports Federation) with 18 kills, and Jon Grobe added 15.
Steve Klosterman had a match-high 22 kills for the No. 4 Bruins
(14-10, 9-9).
UC Irvine 3, USC 0: Jason Jablonsky had 17 kills to lead the No. 2
Anteaters (22-3, 15-3 MPSF) to a 30-21, 32-30, 30-21 sweep over the host
Trojans (10-12, 7-10), who saw their four-match winning streak end.
Juan Figueroa had 10 kills for USC.
UC Irvine won its 10th match in a row.
