CODE-ALARM'S PRIVATE LABEL SALES INCREASE
CODE-ALARM'S PRIVATE LABEL SALES INCREASE MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Code-Alarm, Inc.
(NASDAQ-NMS: CODL) announced today its Original Equipment (O.E.) division increased private label auto security sales to General Motors Corporation Service Parts Operations, Ford Motor Company Parts and Service Division and Chrysler Corporation by 44 percent during the first four months of 1992 as compared to the same period in 1991. Private label sales to General Motors, Ford and Chrysler accounted for 32.5 percent of Code-Alarm's security sales in 1991.
During March and April of 1992, Code-Alarm's O.E. group processed orders from over 430 new General Motors, Ford and Chrysler dealers who have been inactive during the past two years. "An improving economy and increased car production certainly helped boost our private label sales, but doesn't discount the hustle by our O.E. sales force," Rand Mueller, president, chairman and CEO of Code-Alarm, Inc., said. "We see new, increased interest in auto security devices now that thoughts of recession are fading and security for new and late model cars is almost a must," he added. Code-Alarm supplies its remote vehicle security products and keyless entry systems now to over 9,000 General Motors, Ford and Chrysler dealers nationwide for sale under private labels. Code-Alarm's products are designed, engineered and manufactured in the United States. -0- 5/12/92 /CONTACT: Sheryl Gruener of Code-Alarm, Inc., 313-583-9595/ (CODL) CO: Code-Alarm, Inc.
