According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. is assured of hosting the Western State Conference Bowl - its third bowl berth in as many seasons - but is unsure of its opponent. The Cougars could play Hancock of Santa Maria but won't know for sure until a controversy over the teams selected is resolved, probably today.
