COC (24-11, 17-2) - coming off a 3-1 loss to Bakersfield that trimmed its WSC South Division lead to 1 1/2 games over the Renegades (24-9, 15-3) - took its frustration out on Mission (5-28-1, 2-16) on April 7, sweeping a road doubleheader 15-0 and 13-0.

The Cougars claimed a 7-0 forfeit victory Tuesday against Glendale.

COC, which doesn't play Bakersfield again in the regular season, has a favorable path to the division crown. The Cougars, who played a doubleheader Thursday at L.A. Valley College, close out the regular season Tuesday against visiting Citrus (18-17-1, 9-8) and Thursday with a doubleheader at Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. COC plays a home-and-home series Tuesday and Thursday with division- leading Bakersfield (19-11, 2-4), followed by series with Mission and Valley to close out the season.
