COASTGUARDS CALLED TO CAR.THE coastguard today called for common sense after two people got into difficulty on a Wirral beach in freezing conditions. At 11.50pm yesterday the pair reported their car was stuck at Thurstaston. They were advised by operators at Crosby to leave the area and call private breakdown specialists. But they returned with their parents' 4X4 which also failed to free the car. Later they woke a local farmer to ask for help with his tractor.
