With its low cost plus complete suspension control capabilities, COAST is worlds apart and superior to competing systems (e.g. Cadillac and Land Rover Discovery). COAST is superior because it simultaneously controls all the suspension dynamics on the vehicle. Competing electronic suspension control systems only target specific and few of the suspension dynamics of the vehicle. Conventional shock absorbers and anti-sway bars have remained virtually unchanged within the industry. However, current changes in modern vehicles have strained traditional anti-sway bars and shock absorber capability.
