COALITION ON TEMPORARY SHELTER ADOPTED BY FOREST CITY ENTERPRISES RESIDENTIAL DIVISION

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- In a joint statement, Peggy Posa, director of the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS), servicing homeless families in Detroit, and Mark Gazlay, director of The Trowbridge, a premier rental facility in Southfield for active seniors, announced the adoption of COTS by Forest City Enterprises Residential Division, including Millender Center, Trolley Plaza, both in Detroit, and The Trowbridge on Civic Center Road in Southfield.
The Trowbridge, which provides housekeeping services including linens and laundry for its residents, will donate "gently used sheets on a quarterly basis," according to Gazlay. "The first donation will be delivered this week. Additional metro Detroit-area Forest City properties, including Millender Center and the Omni International Hotel at Millender Center and Trolley Plaza will join The Trowbridge to donate diapers, sheets, toiletries and books for the COTS children's library throughout the year. Forest City Enterprises, with properties across the country, has a long history of philanthropy. It seems particularly appropriate that those of us in the housing industry address the needs of the less fortunate."
Posa, who directs the shelter at 26 Peterboro that houses 140 men, women and children each night, looks forward to a long alliance with Forest City as well as individual residents from The Trowbridge. COTS has served homeless families for more than a decade, providing daily meals, clothing, nursery services, job skills assistance, job training referrals and adult literacy training to more than 5,000 people each year.
