The Northridge Community Coalition was created 1-1/2 years ago through a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Its job is to examine a series of issues that affect the campus and its greater community, including substance abuse and violence. ``We look at what's occurring, where it's occurring, what's the relationship and where (violators) are picked up by police,'' Strache said. ``What we do with the information is to see what can we do to prevent assaults,'' Strache said. ``Or, if people are arrested, what can we do to prevent this. Should we be patrolling the area more often?'' But so far, Strache said, the coalition hasn't drawn any conclusions. |
