VALENCIA -- Everyone's favorite right-hand man is finally the head honcho Honcho

A slang term describing the leader or person in charge of an organization.

``I've been an assistant coach for 22 years. It's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  for me to be a head coach,'' Herrington said Friday. ``It's a good opportunity and I'm looking forward to it.''

The 42-year-old offensive coordinator -- known for his high-powered passing offense -- spent one season at Division III Occidental, followed by a five-year run at Canyons through this past season.

Alemany, which recently hired Saugus High administrator Frank Ferry as its new principal, finished 3-7 last season.

``Frank Ferry is very supportive of not just football but all sports,'' Herrington said.

The Herrington brothers live together in Newhall, and Hart and Alemany are just 10 miles apart, but Dean said there are no plans to schedule a game between the two.

``It will never happen as long as I'm coach,'' Dean said.
