Clark is expected to make a full recovery, a team official said. However, Clark is expected to miss significant time. His role will immediately be filled by Dodgers coach Manny Mota
Manuel Rafael Mota Geronimo, or more commonly known as Manny Mota (born on February 18, 1938 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) was a Major League Baseball Outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Montreal Expos and most notably the Los Angeles

A number of players, front-office officials and on-field staff visited Clark, who was coherent and alert, in the hospital.

``We're definitely glad he's going to survive, but it's tough seeing the pain he is in and the suffering he's going through,'' Dodgers senior vice president Derrick Hall said. ``He has the entire support of our organization and the players.''

According to Steve Volden, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at 11:31 a.m. Clark was driving eastbound on Interstate 10 when a minivan made an unsafe lane change and struck another car, which spun and hit Clark's motorcycle, throwing the 47-year-old from the bike, Volden said.

Clark, who is entering his third season as bench coach, wasn't wearing a helmet. Volden said helmets are not mandatory in the state of Arizona. Volden added the driver of the minivan was ticketed for an unsafe lane change.
