CO detector recall confusion clarified.


AURORA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1996--BRK Brands Inc., manufacturers of First Alert brand carbon monoxide carbon monoxide, chemical compound, CO, a colorless, odorless, tasteless, extremely poisonous gas that is less dense than air under ordinary conditions. It is very slightly soluble in water and burns in air with a characteristic blue flame, producing carbon dioxide;  detectors said a television news report concerning the recall of Sinostone Corp.'s Accusniffer carbon monoxide detector erroneously included a visual of a First Alert package, prompting a flood of consumer calls to the company's customer service line.
