Your Grace,

Thank you for your response of June 28, 2005, to my June 13, 2005, package of information regarding the promotion of the "Catholic News Times" newspaper in our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Vancouver. Also that you appreciate my concern and "understand my point of view." The response increases my concerns and does not bode bode 1

for the good of all" as you suggested, especially if they received a copy of your letter.

The correspondence from the Parish Council/Advisory Board in the package already provided their rationale to support the paper. Their response via the chairman comes from our pastor who endorses the "C"NT dissent. A subscription with the Catholic Insight was taken out for the parish but was neither acknowledged nor displayed. It seems Catholics must now suppress adherence to our Faith's teachings in order to accommodate and tolerate blatant disobedience. Are you suggesting the Magisterium mag·is·te·ri·um

No secular workplace would tolerate media mutiny mutiny, concerted disobedient or seditious action by persons in military or naval service, or by sailors on commercial vessels. Mutiny may range from a combined refusal to obey orders to active revolt or going over to the enemy on the part of two or more persons.  on its management as our Church does this mutinous mu·ti·nous

How does that approach mesh with taking seriously pastoral messages directing us to take a stand for our Church, such as in your recent letter to the clergy and faithful of the Archdiocese arch·di·o·cese

regarding Bill C-38? Is this just another "point of view" that we can disregard, even as you warn us that we can face "misunderstanding and persecution for taking a stand?" What stand? As long as the likes of a "C"NT "point of view" is encouraged and protected within any of our Catholic churches, such directives to maintain the Faith are sadly groundless. By now the "freedom of Choice" propaganda prevails.

Again, I thank you for your signed letter. I realize your advisory staff also handles correspondence and responses and therefore understand why you were not made aware of our efforts already with our pastor and Advisory Board. For the Catholic Insight, I will forward on a copy.
