CNS confers awards on Pakistan Navy officers, men.


KARACHI, 06 May , 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Noman Bashir, on Wednesday conferred military awards on Pakistan Navy officers and men in an impressive investiture investiture, in feudalism, ceremony by which an overlord transferred a fief to a vassal or by which, in ecclesiastical law, an elected cleric received the pastoral ring and staff (the symbols of spiritual office) signifying the transfer of the office.  ceremony held at Bahria Auditorium here.  (Navy) press release said that these awards were announced by the Government of Pakistan Government of Pakistan (Urdu: حکومتِ پاکستان), The Constitution of Pakistan provides for a Federal Parliamentary System of government, with a President as the Head of State and an indirectly-elected Prime  in recognition of meritorious service, acts of gallantry and exceptional devotion to duty of recipients in their respective fields. The recipients of Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) are: Commodore Abid Ihsan, Commodore Abdul Hameed Meer, Commodore Khalid Saeed, Commodore Imtiaz Ahmad, Commodore Arifullah Hussaini, Commodore Muhammad Naeem, Commodore Adnan Nazir, Commodore Nasir Mahmood, Commodore Hasan Nasir Shah, Commodore Zafar Abbas Khan, Commodore Kaleem Shaukat, Commodore Shah Sohail Masood, Commodore Mahmood ur Rehman and Commodore Asif Saleem. Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to Captain Sajid Mahmood, Cdr Muhammad Zubair, Cdr Sherin Khan, Cdr Akmal Hameed Kayani, Cdr Fahim Muhammad Khan, Cdr Aqib Riffat Shaikh, Cdr Arshad Mahmood, Cdr Wajid Mahboob, Cdr Syed Ahmed Salman, Cdr Tariq Saeed Ahmed, Cdr Rajub Ali Jaffri, Cdr Muhammad Saleem, Cdr Asif Hussain Baig, Cdr Muhammad Khalid Rahman, Lt Cdr Muhammad Ashraf Javed, Lt Cdr Rizwan Ahmed, Lt Cdr Syed Abbas Raza Zaidi, Lt Cdr Farrukh Mushtaq, Lt Cdr Shahid Shahid or Shaheed is a male given name common among Muslims. Chief of the Naval Staff Letters of Commendation were presented to 27 officers and men for their excellent performances in their respective trades. Ghazanfar Ali was declared the best sailor of the year 2008 whereas Karam Nawaz and Safdar Hussain were proclaimed the best civilian employees of the year 2008. The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior serving and retired officers of the Armed Forces and families of the award winners.
