CNS, Inc. receives ISO 9002 certification.

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1997--CNS, Inc., manufacturer of Breathe Right(R) nasal strips and other consumer products, has received ISO 9002/EN46002 certification from TUV Product Services of Munich, Germany. The certification recognizes CNS's quality systems for the production and distribution of consumer and health care products.

An internationally recognized quality mark, ISO 9000 is a generic system that specifies, in very broad terms, the necessary components of a quality assurance management system. More than 100 countries have adopted ISO 9000 as the standard for assuring consistent quality. The certification demonstrates compliance to international and European quality systems standards.

In order to receive certification, an independent organization, called a registrar, measures companies against the ISO 9000 standard that is accepted globally as the defining set of quality management system requirements. The registration process includes a pre-audit, documentation review and certification audit. Once registration is achieved, auditors return at least annually for routine surveillance visits.

CNS, based in Minneapolis, designs, manufactures and markets consumer products, including Breathe Right nasal strips. The nasal strips improve breathing by reducing nasal airflow resistance. They can be effective in eliminating or reducing snoring, and for temporary relief of breathing difficulties due to a deviated septum and nasal congestion. The company also has entered into several agreements to market or license new medical consumer products that are in various stages of evaluation and testing.
