weather events in real time, `round-the-clock, with street-level

mapping, local radar and hi-resolution satellite imaging

WSI Corporation (Weather Services International) announced today that CNN has upgraded its weather-broadcast capabilities with the purchase of WSI's flagship weather graphics system, the WeatherProducer(tm). WSI also said CNN signed a five-year contract for real-time weather data used to generate on-air graphics and animations for CNN, CNN International and CNN Headline News.

CNN is using the five-workstation WeatherProducer for up-to-the-second coverage of severe and breaking weather with street-level mapping, high-resolution radar and satellite imagery, and to create graphics for storm watches and warnings, and radar loops. CNN has been using WSI weather technology and data for more than a decade.

Used by nearly 300 TV stations across North America to produce weather broadcasts, WSI's WeatherProducer is the industry's leading on-air meteorological workstation and graphics-production system, designed to automate an entire weather office while producing captivating shows for audiences.
