CNBC and The Wall Street Journal to Host Presidential Democratic Candidate Debate on Thursday, September 25th; NBC News' Brian Williams to Moderate.

FORT LEE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 2003

 and The Wall Street Journal will co-host the first live nationally televised debate on the economy with the Democratic candidates for President on Thursday, September 25, 2003. The debate will air live from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. ET on CNBC (rebroadcast in its entirety on MSNBC MSNBC Microsoft/National Broadcasting Company  at 9:00 p.m. ET) and will be held at Pace University's downtown campus in New York's financial district. The "CNBC/Wall Street Journal Democratic Candidate Debate" will focus on the state of the economy and other key financial issues facing Americans today.

In addition, the candidates will be questioned by panelists Ron Insana Ron Insana (born March 31 1961) is currently Senior Analyst for CNBC and Managing Director of Insana Capital Partners. He was the anchor of CNBC's "Street Signs", (M-F, 2-3 p.m. , co-anchor of CNBC's "Business Center with Ron Insana and Sue Herera," Gloria Borger, co-anchor of CNBC's "Capital Report with Alan Murray and Gloria Borger," and Jerry Seib, Washington bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal. The debate will be produced by NBC News.

Editors please note: The media center for the debate will be located at the Pace University gymnasium at One Pace Plaza One Pace Plaza, completed in 1969, is the flagship building complex of Pace University in New York City, specifically designed for Pace. It is located directly across from City Hall and adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge, and houses most of the classrooms, administrative offices, a . Credentials will be required to enter the facility.
