CNBC's "Business Center" Adds In-Depth Focus on

Extended Hours Trading in New 90-Minute Format

Ensuring viewers stay current with the market's activity before, during, and after the bell, CNBC debuts important upgrades to its presentation of real-time financial data starting today. With an enhanced stock ticker, exclusive extended hour charts, improved on-air quote boards and the expansion of its "Business Center" program, CNBC begins real-time continuous stock trading coverage that will bring new perspective and depth to its coverage of the entire day's trading.

These programming initiatives -- months in development and representing a multimillion-dollar investment by CNBC -- reflect the evolving financial marketplace where significant activity takes place before and after the traditional opening and closing bells at 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

"CNBC will be the only news source providing real-time market data that meets the increasing demand for greater coverage of stock trades throughout the day," said Bruno Cohen cohen

, senior vice president, business news. "These changes in our extended hours coverage are an important step to maintaining our position as the world's leading brand in business news and analysis."

New on-air changes include:

-- CNBC's new upgraded ticker now displays real-time trades and

volume between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., with an

alphabetical recap at other times. Extended-hours trades are

indicated with gold color. Price changes are based on the

Exchange Commission's recent report emphasizing 4:00 p.m. as a

standard for valuation.

-- The new CNBC extended hour charts show a continuous graph of

trading activity from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with extended

hours represented in dark gold. The improved CNBC on-air quote

boards are consistent with the extended hour charts and ticker

-- CNBC's "Business Center," television's premier nightly

business-news program, expands to 90 minutes Monday through

Thursday (6:30-8:00 p.m.) and 60 minutes on Friday. The
