Business Editors

LINCOLN, Neb. & CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2001

During the fourth quarter of 2001, Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. (Ameritas) and CNA (Certified NetWare Administrator) See Novell certification.  are expanding what began as a pilot marketing program in seven cities Seven Cities may refer to:
  • The mythical "Isle of Seven Cities", also known as Antillia
  • The Seven Cities of Hampton Roads, the largest communities in southeastern Virginia
  • "Seven Cities", a 1999 single by trance producers Solarstone
in order for CNA Group Benefits sales offices to market Ameritas group dental and eye care plans nationwide.

On April 2, 2001, Ameritas and CNA announced that, under a marketing agreement between the two organizations, CNA Group Benefits would begin marketing Ameritas group dental and eye care plans in Houston, San Antonio San Antonio (săn ăntō`nēō, əntōn`), city (1990 pop. 935,933), seat of Bexar co., S central Tex., at the source of the San Antonio River; inc. 1837. , Dallas, Denver, Orlando, Charlotte and Cincinnati. On March 1, CNA sales representatives and their brokerage network began selling the Ameritas plans (insured by Ameritas) in those specific markets, primarily to groups of 10 to 500 and, in some cases, groups of 2,000 or more.

Now this marketing effort will be expanded to all CNA Group Benefits sales offices across the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . This expansion is taking place earlier than originally planned because of the interest demonstrated by CNA's sales associates and the distinct potential for increased sales.

"Once the pilot program with CNA was up and running," said Ken VanCleave, senior vice president of the Ameritas Group Division, "we were encouraged by the CNA sales associates' eagerness to market our products on a broader level. This expansion will mean increased sales and success for both companies."

"We are excited about this next step in our relationship with Ameritas," commented Bill Seyboth, president of CNA Group Benefits. "The results of the pilot phase have been encouraging and we are extremely pleased with the level of support provided by our partners at Ameritas."

Sales training for all offices that were not part of the original pilot program began in October 2001.
