The overall focus of the CNA learning presentation was on how to create the synergy that comes when Claim, Loss Control and Underwriting all work together seamlessly to service consumers. A formal presentation began the two days of in-depth learning. The presentation included slides in Russian that CNA Claim Center associates produced by tracking down a vendor who handles Russian translations for the Pentagon. The presence of two Russian interpreters, combined with the Russian slides, resulted in a lively interactive exchange.

CNA senior management then took the group on a "field trip" to a site in Fort Worth that had incurred a $29 million tornado loss. The Russians were impressed with the role CNA played in helping insured businesses get back in operation. The following day, CNA hosted a mock surveillance to demonstrate how fraud investigators work in the U.S.

In contrast to our distribution system, most agents in Russia are largely direct writers. The size, scope and diverse product offerings of our operation was fascinating to our guests who, in our terms, work for small and rather specialized companies," Williams added.

"All of us really understood how impressive our operation was in the eyes of the Russians. It's a great feeling. We have an even better understanding now of how well we work together to the obvious benefit of our customers," concluded Claim Center Vice President, Leo Malo.
