CN sponsors Canadian Women's Open and invests as community champion of golf in Canada.

MONTREAL -- North American rail industry leader ensures LPGA Tour remains in Canada, will also support Canadian Women's Tour and Future Links

In a joint press conference held with the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA), CN has agreed to a multi-year sponsorship agreement to become title sponsor of the LPGA Tour Canadian Women's Open tournament, Canadian Women's Tour and Future Links. Financial details and terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

The CN Canadian Women's Open will debut from August 7-13, 2006. The event enters its 34th season on the LPGA Tour. An official announcement on the host venue for the championship is expected in the coming weeks.

CN's commitment to golf will extend beyond the Canadian Women's Open. As part of its partnership with the RCGA, the 86-year-old company will also become title sponsor of the successful Canadian Women's Tour and Future Links program.

CN Canadian Women's Tour, conducted by the RCGA is one of North America's premier developmental tours attracting rising Canadian and international female golf professionals as well as top Canadian female amateurs. The only women's developmental tour in Canada, the CN Canadian Women's Tour will offer premier championship play at locations across Canada, competitive purses and the opportunity to earn exemptions into the CN Canadian Women's Open, Canada's only LPGA Tour event. LPGA Tour professionals such as Lorie Kane and Isabelle Beisiegel competed on the Canadian Women's Tour, and used their experiences on Tour as a springboard to future success.

CN Future Links is Canada's national junior golf development program designed to ensure the future of golf. Conducted by the RCGA in partnership with the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association (CPGA) and Canada's provincial golf associations, the program consists of multi-level instruction and rewards, clinics, camps, support materials and special programs to raise awareness of junior golf and address the issues of accessibility and affordability. More than 323,000 boys and girls across Canada have participated in the program since its inception in 1996. In 2004 alone, more than 78,000 children participated in Future Links.
