The Layton Companies won 1st place for the Concrete Scorecard, a graphical representation of the performance of concrete projects. This innovation was based on a customized Production Report that displays the weekly, job-to-date, budget dollars for each phase code along with a metric for production for concrete jobs.

"In today's market, we understand that 'business as usual' is not going to secure success," said Craig Lawson, director of accounting for the Layton Companies. "CMiC is a competitive edge for us in the construction industry. Our innovation allowed our self-performed concrete managers to have a weekly trend analysis sent to them automatically in a graphical format so that inefficiencies or overages could immediately be identified and discussed with the client. This sort of analytics makes us more efficient and saves time, but the real success is in our ability to communicate issues with the client upfront so that we can preserve relationships and allow our clients to make informed decisions."
