Throughout the world food safety is the most important issue in the food supply chain. ISO 22000 will be an international standard and will define the requirements of a food safety management system covering all organizations in the food chain from farmers to catering, packaging to grocery stores. ISO 22000 will combine Interactive Communication, System Management & Hazard control as recognized key elements to ensure food safety along the food chain. ISO 22000 is an official standard currently at the Draft International Standard (DIS) stage for projected release in 2005.
