CMS will supply a comprehensive proton and conventional radiotherapy software planning solution that includes eight XiO treatment planning workstations with proton and IMRT IMRT Intensity-modulated radiation therapy Radiation oncology A format for delivering high-dose RT to regions–eg, nasopharynx, that are surrounded by radiation-sensitive areas; in IMRT, a broad radiation field is divided into hundreds of small pencil beams,  planning capabilities. ProCure will also be implementing a CMS Direct planning environment that features centralized on-line data storage and management; remote access to CMS patient data and planning tools; and unified user work spaces which allow planning professionals to conveniently access CMS planning tools as well as other Windows-based clinical applications, Office productivity tools, email and the Internet from a single client terminal. The CMS Direct planning environment will support centralized and distributed planning across ProCure's network of facilities and allow clinicians to remotely discuss, review, modify and approve patient plans.

CMS' XiO is a comprehensive treatment planning system that combines the latest tools and the most robust dose calculation algorithms, allowing users to generate treatment plans quickly and accurately to optimize the delivery of radiation therapy. XiO's integrated planning capabilities support a range of treatment modalities, including 3-D, MLC-based IMRT (both sliding window and step-and-shoot), solid compensator-based IMRT, brachytherapy, and proton therapy. XiO leverages the speed and performance capabilities of the Linux operating system and the processing power of dual Intel processors to deliver superior 3-D image rendering, real-time image manipulation, and rapid calculation times.

XiO supports proton as well as conventional photon and electron planning. Developed over a decade ago in collaboration with leading researchers and clinicians at the Massachusetts General Hospital Massachusetts General Hospital Health care The major teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, widely regarded as one of the best health care centers in the world , XiO's proton planning capabilities are utilized at leading proton treatment sites and research institutions around the world, including MGH MGH Massachusetts General Hospital
