CMS ENERGY NAMES CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

 DEARBORN, Mich., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Kelly M. Farr has been named director of corporate communications for CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS). In that capacity, he will have responsibility for managing the diversified energy holding company's relations with the news media and will report to CMS Energy Senior Vice President John W. Clark.
 Farr, 41, had been public information director of CMS Energy's principal subsidiary, Consumers Power Company, at its Jackson general office since 1990. Before that he served as general supervisor of public information and nuclear information supervisor in the utility's news and information section since 1986. He joined the utility in 1980 as public affairs director at its Palisades nuclear plant near South Haven and moved to Toledo Edison as a company spokesman in 1985 before returning to Consumers Power in 1986.
 A native of Grosse Pointe Farms, Farr worked as news director of radio stations in Saginaw and Jackson from 1974 to 1980. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Michigan State University in 1973. Farr served as scoutmaster and chairman of Cub Scout Pack 437 in Jackson from 1988 to 1991 and has coached soccer in Jackson's parks and recreation youth soccer league. He and his wife, Susie, are the parents of a son and a daughter.
