CMP promotes NetGuide publisher; names former CMP publisher to take over top spot at NetGuide; Don Tydeman to head up new business development; Beth Haggerty leaves Interactive Enterprises to take over reins at NetGuide.


MANHASSET, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 1995--Donald Tydeman, vice president and publisher of CMP's NetGuide magazine, has been promoted to vice president, corporate director of Business Development, and Beth Haggerty, publisher of Ziff-Davis' Interactive Week, has rejoined CMP CMP (cytidine monophosphate): see cytosine.

In his new position, Tydeman will help guide CMP's electronic as well as print publishing efforts. Reporting to Cron, Tydeman will focus on the emerging areas of information technology, most immediately software and communications technologies Noun 1. communications technology - the activity of designing and constructing and maintaining communication systems

. "Don has gotten NetGuide off to a terrific start," Cron said, noting that it leads the online market by every measure--circulation and advertising pages as well as reader acceptance.

"Allowing Don to focus on emerging areas, where his market profile and depth of knowledge are high, will help CMP continue developing as a media company," Cron said. Tydeman, a 15-year CMP veteran, has headed CMP publications in the technology sector as well as in the health area before the company sold its health-related publications. In addition to NetGuide, Tydeman launched three other CMP start-ups as well as the group that is now CMP's National Accounts Program.

Haggerty returns to CMP after a year as Publisher of Interactive Week, which is published by Interactive Enterprises, a unit of Ziff-Davis.
