CMP Media launches "Electronics Supply & Manufacturing" & new event.

CMP Media's (Manhasset, NY) Electronics Group has begun the publication of Electronics Supply & Manufacturing (ESM) magazine with an April issue. The new monthly has a controlled circulation of 40,000 managers at original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) providers.

CMP said the magazine is written for managers with global influence in all industry segments and across all sizes of companies, with a focus on "midtier" companies. "Those In the midtier are just as affected by globalization as top-tier companies but typically don't have the resources to devote to global supply and design chain management issues. Their information needs will be especially well-served" by the launch, CMP said.

CMP said editorial includes information designed to help managers manage their business, supply base, supply chain, design chain and manufacturing strategies. The first issue includes feature articles on the pros and cons of sourcing components from China, compliance with environmental regulations and avoiding component shortages and possible allocations.

Users also have access to an accompanying Web site and a bi-weekly newsletter that carries industry updates. CMP's Electronics Group also produces EE Times, EETimes Asia, EBM China and Embedded Systems Programming magazines as well as related conferences.

Also, CMP Media will launch the "BPO Connections, the Business Process Outsourcing Event" on Oct. 6-7 during New York's "Technology Week" at the Jacob Javits Center. The event is an invitation-only business forum designed for organizations interested in business process outsourcing.
