CMP's "CRN" to launch "CRN Tech" in January.

Beginning January 1, CMP Channel Group's (Manhasset, NY) "CRN" will undergo a redesign and a move to magazine format and will begin the publication of "CRN Tech," a monthly magazine with accompanying online resources designed to provide IT professionals with information on technologies and services. Also, frequency for "CRN" will be reduced from four to three times a month.

CMP said that "CRN Tech" is being launched to help IT solution providers select products and technology used in their services sales. It will provide reviews on recently launched products and emerging technologies with information on driving service revenue from those technologies. It will have its own web site and will produce live events around the country at which vendors can demonstrate new technology offerings.

"CRN" VP/Publisher Dan Dignam said that both readers and advertisers were consulted on the launch. "The vendors are applauding the focus of our new products and are particularly high on "CRN Tech." They appreciate that solution providers use different media to find diverse types of information, and that we've responded to market conditions by optimizing all available media platforms so that they can better target their messages."

CMP also said that "CRN" is adding a number of new enhancements to its web site, including a streaming video program, and new events, including the CRN Fast Growth 100 Executive Summit.
