CMHC Systems Announces Inside Ohio Technology Presentation.

CMHC CMHC community mental health center.  Systems, a leading provider of information technology for healthcare and human services organizations, is hosting a technology presentation devoted to topics of national, state, and local interest and their specific impact on Ohio users of the CMHC/MIS. Program topics will cover the history and intent behind HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996, Public Law 104-191) Also known as the "Kennedy-Kassebaum Act," this U.S. law protects employees' health insurance coverage when they change or lose their jobs (Title I) and provides standards for patient health,  legislation, up-to-date information about the current status of the law, and new state initiatives including the Ohio Mental Health Task Force organized by the Ohio Department of Mental Health. Presenters will discuss the upcoming HIPAA Road Map workshop, its internal HIPAA task force, IT Horizons - Preparing for a Paperless Industry, CMHC Systems' 2000-2001 educational seminar series, and CMHC Systems' recently developed corporate magazine, One - The Integration of Healthcare and Technology. Benefits of the Ohio Consumer Outcomes Initiative as well as recent technological advances and their impact on CMHC/MIS users will be thoroughly addressed and exciting new product features will also be demonstrated.
