 and health professionals will have a new opportunity to learn the latest trends and developments in medical practice and technology through the CMC (Common Messaging Calls) A programming interface specified by the XAPIA as the standard messaging API for X.400 and other messaging systems. CMC is intended to provide a common API for applications that want to become mail enabled.

 Project, a collaboration between the Chinese Medical Association and MedNet International Ltd., a Hong Kong-based medical and health care communications company Communications Company is a communications unit of the United States Marine Corps. They are part of Combat Logistics Regiment 37 , 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3MLG) and III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF). The unit is based out of the Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. .

The CMC Project (Chinese/MedNet/Consortium) is endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Public Health; the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television; and the Press and Publication Administration of the Peoples Republic of China. Information about the newest trends and developments in the practice of medicine, medical research and medical technologies from around the world will be delivered through a variety of media formats.

"MedNet has full responsibility for developing all educational materials for the CMC Project as well as the authority to obtain funding from corporate sponsors for this ongoing medical education program," said Li De Lin, MD, president of the Chinese Medical Audio and Video Organization (CMAVO), the subdivision of the Chinese Medical Association responsible for the CMC Project. The CMAVO will be responsible for the translation of all the programs from English to Chinese and will also serve a key role by helping to facilitate the needs of sponsoring companies in promoting their businesses and services in China.
