:CLXN) today announced that portfolio investment Zonda Inc., which specializes in test products that serve the medical diagnostic, bacterial food testing and environmental surfaces testing markets, has sent the first shipment of its HandiLab-C test for Chlamydia chlamydia (kləmĭd`ēə), genus of microorganisms that cause a variety of diseases in humans and other animals. Psittacosis, or parrot fever, caused by the species Chlamydia psittaci,  to be distributed in pharmacies throughout Sweden.

Zonda's HandiLab-C test, the only over-the-counter test that carries the CE mark, which signifies that the product complies with the relevant health, safety, environmental protection requirements in Europe and can therefore be legally placed on the market, is currently distributed to pharmacies across Norway and in other selected European markets. Beginning on Feb. 1, 2006, HandiLab-C test will be made available to all pharmacies in Sweden.

"Zonda has reported brisk sales of the Chlamydia diagnostic test for over-the-counter use, and we expect that by expanding distribution to Sweden, throughout Scandinavia, and to markets across Europe, Zonda's revenues will steadily increase in the coming fiscal quarters and the value of CLX's investment in Zonda will grow," said Tammy D.
