CLWA TO ENDORSE GLADBACH FOR STATE LAFCO POSITION.

CASTAIC - The Castaic Lake Castaic Lake is a lake on Castaic Creek formed by Castaic Dam, in northwestern Los Angeles County, California, near the town of Castaic. The 323,700 acre foot lake (399,000,000 m³) is the terminus of the West Branch of the California Aqueduct, though some comes from the 154 mi²  Water Agency at its meeting tonight is expected to endorse one of its directors who is running for a seat on the California Local Agency Formation Commission.

 Executive Officer, Larry Calemine. ``Sometimes you need to have a broad cross section of opinions on issues and he will bring that knowledge and experience to Cal-LAFCO.'' Gladbach, who last year began a two-year term as president of the Association of California Water Agencies, also has served as the water association's vice president since January 2002. He has been active in California water issues for 42 years.

He was first elected to the Castaic water board in 1985 and was board president from 1987 to 1991.

A civil engineer and a former manager with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is the largest municipal utility in the United States, serving 3.9 million residents in 2006. It was founded in 1902 to deliver water and electricity supplies to residents and businesses in Los Angeles. , Gladbach has been an active state water association participant since 1973.

He is a past chairman of the association's Region 8, which includes Los Angeles and Ventura counties, and is active on its executive committee, Outreach Outreach is an effort by an organization or group to connect its ideas or practices to the efforts of other organizations, groups, specific audiences or the general public.  Task Force and Joint Powers Insurance Authority.

He has served as a commissioner of the Los Angeles Local Agency Formation Commission.

``The state's focus is on other issues and my goal would be to give them the real story of the water needs in California,'' Gladbach said.

An election will be held among representatives from all LAFCOs during an annual conference in September.

Gladbach is challenged by two others for two vacant seats.
