Robbery-Homicide detectives did not release the identity of the suspect who was shot in the robbery attempt.

They said they were reviewing the slain man's criminal history, and trying to track down his family members with the hopes of catching up to his accomplice.

The robbery began about 5:15 p.m. Sunday at the Macy's store in the Westfield Shoppingtown Promenade mall in Woodland Hills. About 250 police officers responded to the scene. One suspect was shot when police said he pointed a gun at them, and police said the other suspect fled.
