Sheriff's detectives said they planned to interview more witnesses in the shooting deaths of Antonio Hernandez and Jesus Montano, both 23 and both of Sylmar.

. Two others were wounded and taken to a local hospital where they were still listed in critical condition.

No arrests have been made.

``The investigation is ongoing,'' said sheriff's Detective Rick Graves. A second drive-by shooting occurred later that afternoon, at the transition between the Ronald Reagan and the Foothill freeways.

``We know for sure the two are not linked,'' Graves said.

The family of Anthony Hernandez, who has two brothers and three sisters, was still trying to understand his slaying.
