``We have won 11 straight, beat Montclair and then, bam, we were off,'' Kingsmen coach Marty Slimak said. ``I like our chances, though, if we can carry it through.''

They'll find out soon enough. The Kingsmen play in the strong California Invitational Tournament beginning Saturday, an event Slimak considers the best in Division-III baseball in the western United States Noun 1. western United States - the region of the United States lying to the west of the Mississippi River

``When we first started, we knew we had a half-dozen games that would test us, and we've come out pretty good so far,'' Slimak said. ``You can play a lot of easy teams, but if you get to the regionals, you're going to face some tough teams.''

Nice work if you can get it: The CLU golf team will take full advantage of its free time, traveling to Florida for two matches.
