CLU HOPES PLAYOFF STORY HAS NEW END.

 lost a regular-season game to a Division III opponent. Last month, the Tritons beat CLU 3-0.

While UCSD had a first-round bye, the Regals reached the 5 p.m. semifinal by defeating Chapman 2-1 on Wednesday. If CLU wins today, it plays at 1 p.m. Sunday at UCSD against the winner of the Santa Cruz-Puget Sound semifinal. The West region champion faces the South champion next weekend.
