The dominance that has produced eight consecutive wins and has the Regals on track to repeat as conference champions reached its climax Friday when the Regals earned a 97-10 nonconference victory against Caltech. The host Beavers scored just three points in the second half and six CLU (language) CLU - (CLUster) An object-oriented programming language developed at MIT by Liskov et al in 1974-1975.

Christina Mosesso led the Regals with 21 points in their highest output of the season. CLU prides itself in scheduling tough nonconference opponents, but since Caltech is trying to join the SCIAC SCIAC SIGINT Correlation Integration & Analysis Capability , each member of the conference plays the Beavers once. Last year, Caltech managed 20 points. As dominating as the Regals were Friday, the performance did not break team records for margin of victory or fewest points allowed.

``Defensively, we played very well,'' CLU coach Tim La Kose said. ``We tried to play well defensively and work on some things on offense. We try to get better with each game, so you don't want to ease up.''

The Regals went undefeated in January after a tough preseason left CLU (16-5, 6-0) with a 6-5 record entering SCIAC play.

Tuesday's 68-61 victory against Whittier kept the Regals perfect in the SCIAC.

``That was our intent, to play the best teams we could in the preseason and go undefeated in conference and go into playoffs strong,'' La Kose said. ``We're on track to do that.''

CLU starts the second round of conference play Friday at Claremont-Mudd and faces one of its most difficult SCIAC opponents when the Regals host Pomona-Pitzer on Tuesday.
