Division III (or DIII) is a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association of the United States.
 World Series on Saturday, sweeping winners' bracket survivor Southwestern of Texas 11-3 and 10-6 in the final round of the West Regional at Abilene, Texas Abilene is a city in Taylor County, Texas, United States, in the central portion of the state. The Kingsmen (28-13), appearing in the playoffs for a seventh straight year, will play their World Series opener next Saturday, facing Aurora, Ill., in a first-round game at Memorial Stadium in Salem, Va.

The Southern Califoria Intercollegiate Athletic Association-champion Kingsmen never trailed in the final game, taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning and clinching the victory with another three-run outburst in the eighth to build a 9-3 lead.

It was similarly one-sided for the Kingsmen in the opening game. They ended a lot of the tension early by scoring six runs in the first inning, making life comfortable for starter and winner Adam Springston (8-2), who struck out seven and scattered seven hits in a complete-game effort.

Britt and Adam Rauch had two hits each, Malchow doubled while Britt and Bill Finnerty homered to lead Kingsmen in the first-game win.

Southwestern (36-11) had knocked CLU into the losers' bracket by defeating the Kingsmen 8-6 in the second round. Both won regional openers - CLU 7-1 over West Coast independent Chapman and Southwestern 9-2 over McMurry of Texas.

After McMurry eliminated Chapman 7-4, CLU beat McMurry 6-4 in Friday's losers' bracket final to get the rematch with Southwestern.
