CLU'S STREAK CONTINUES.

Vaqueros shock Valley: Tony Hoggatts was fouled driving for a layup with five seconds to play, then hit both free throws to give visiting Glendale College a 73-71 win over Western State Conference Southern Division co-leader Valley, which had won nine in a row and was ranked among the top 12 teams in the state.

Hoggatts finished with 24 points and Donald Holt added 12 for Glendale (11-11, 2-2), which trailed 44-35 at halftime. Germaine Chase led Valley (19-6, 3-1) with 19 points, hitting five 3-point shots. Fahim Nelson added 10 points and four blocked shots for Valley, and Ronnie Noel had 13 points and 10 assists for the host Monarchs.
