CLOONEY SETS SIGHTS ON `SIGHT'.

George Clooney George Timothy Clooney (May 6, 1961) is an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter who gained fame as the lead doctor in the long-running television drama, ER  is in talks to star in ``Out of Sight'' for Universal Pictures.

The film, which is expected to start production this summer, would be Clooney's next picture after the recently completed ``Batman and Robin'' for Warner Bros BROS Brothers

. He is expected to get at least $10 million for the ``Sight'' role. The studio is currently meeting with directors, and Steven Soderbergh is believed to be one of the front-runners.

The film is expected to roll next month in Northern California. Jackson will portray a brilliant mathematician in the film, which derives from Michael Crichton's 1987 novel.

Daltrey's next: Rock star Roger Daltrey and actor Jurgen Prochnow (``Das Boot'') have been cast in ``Fifth Freedom,'' which will shoot in the Netherlands this spring.

``Fifth Freedom'' is built around the historical fact that some 7,000 warplanes went down during World War II over the Netherlands' Inland Sea.
