Miller had 18 points and nine assists, Brand had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Lamar Odom added 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Clippers (19-35).

The Clippers hadn't won two in a row since Jan. 10. The Hawks stopped a road losing streak at four games to kick off a six-game trip.

The Clippers tied it 85-85 with 2:44 left after Quentin Richardson made a 3-point shot. But Atlanta's Terry struck back, making a 3-point shot to give the Hawks an 88-85 lead with 2:27 left.

The lead in the fourth quarter went back and forth. Once the Clippers took a 78-76 lead with 7:02 to play on a jump shot by Brand, the game was tight the rest of the way. The Clippers had overcome a seven-point deficit by starting the fourth quarter with a 7-2 run to tie it 74-74 with 8:11 left.

The Hawks led 72-67 entering the fourth quarter after outscoring the Clippers 28-19 in the third, when the Hawks shot 9 of 16 (56.3 percent). More impressive, Atlanta went to the free-throw line 13 times, making 10. Ratliff led the charge with 10 third-quarter points.

Atlanta went on a 12-0 run just after halftime to take a 63-57 lead with 4:31 left in the quarter. After that, the Hawks led for the rest of the third quarter and by as many as seven points.

The Clippers led 48-44 at halftime, but they could have been up more. They had a 13-point lead in the first quarter and watched that disappear.
