CLIPPERS WIN, BUT POOH UNHAPPY : RICHARDSON SAYS HE'S GETTING TIRED OF BEING CHEWED OUT BY FITCH CLIPPERS 166, CELTICS 112.

Byline: Gary Washburn Daily News Staff Writer

A 116-112 Clippers win over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday left most Clippers relieved.

It left one frustrated.

The Clippers ended a seven-game homestand 6-1, third best in team history. The Clippers won their fourth straight by scoring the last five points, including two free throws by Darrick Martin Darrick David Martin (born March 6, 1971 in Denver, Colorado, United States) is an American professional basketball player, currently with the NBA's Toronto Raptors. Martin has became known as a solid veteran who provided quality minutes as a reserve, maintaining a career free  with 13.9 seconds left.

However, blowing a 16-point third quarter lead left some sour tastes and guard Pooh Richardson Jerome "Pooh" Richardson (born May 14 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American former National Basketball Association (NBA) player.

The 6'1" point guard was taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the tenth overall pick of the 1989 NBA Draft out of UCLA.
was the most bitter - but not at the outcome.

Richardson played his most minutes (23) since Jan. 5 and pitched in with a game-high 10 assists. However, getting chewed out by coach Bill Fitch William Fitch (born May 19 1934 in Davenport, Iowa) is a former NBA coach who has been successful in making teams playoff contenders throughout his coaching career. Before entering the professional ranks he coached college ball at the University of Minnesota, Bowling Green State  after two turnovers and a missed jump shot had him bewildered.

``I don't even feel comfortable out there,'' Richardson said. ``(Fitch's) in my ear all the time. If you want me to do well, stay out of my ear.''

With the Clippers ahead 113-112 with 50 seconds left, Richardson threw a pass off the leg of Rodney Rogers Rodney Ray Rogers (born June 20, 1971, in Durham, North Carolina) is a retired American basketball player who last played power forward for the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers.

Rogers played college basketball at Wake Forest University from 1990 until 1993.
that fell into the hands of Antoine Walker Antoine Devon Walker (born August 12 1976, in Chicago, Illinois, United States) is an American professional basketball player with the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association. He has played for four different teams during his NBA career. .

The Celtics then called a timeout and Fitch yelled at Richardson about the entry pass. He also stared at Richardson when he took an ill-advised jumper on a Clippers fastbreak during that same stretch.

``I make one or two turnovers and he's yelling at me,'' Richardson said. ``I don't even feel like I'm giving my best because I'm not allowed to do what I can do.

``If you want me to play productive minutes, then let me be me.''

Richardson made his comments after Fitch completed his postgame press conference.

Richardson made sure to point out that his frustration was not caused by his benching in favor of Martin. Martin played just one minute in the fourth quarter and 23 minutes for the game - his least since Jan. 15 against Indiana.

Fitch went with Richardson in a second half that was the saw the Clippers turn a 16-point lead into a three-point deficit with 6:33 left in the fourth quarter.

``He jumps on me but not other players for doing the same thing,'' Richardson said. ``If I play 10 or 15 or 20 minutes, I don't mind, as long as I'm productive. And if he lets me play like I can without being in my ear, then I'll be happy.

``I don't care

about starting. Hey, the team's playing good and we're getting better. I don't want to sound like I'm mad. But I want to play like I can to help this team. I'm not being allowed to do that.''

The Clippers - seventh place in the Western Conference - picked up another game on eighth-place Sacramento by virtue of double-figure points from seven players. Malik Sealy Malik Sealy (February 1, 1970 – May 20, 2000) was an American professional basketball player from 1992 until his death in an automobile accident. Sealy played eight seasons in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Detroit Pistons, and the Minnesota  led the Clippers with 21 while Rodney Rogers and Loy Vaught Loy Stephen Vaught (born February 27, 1968 in Grand Rapids, Michigan) is a retired American basketball player who spent ten seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Los Angeles Clippers.  both added 18.

The Clippers were in danger of losing to the league's worst road team as the Celtics took a 101-98 lead with 6:33 left on a 3-pointer by Todd Day Todd Fitzgerald Day (born January 7, 1970 in Decatur, Illinois) is a former American professional basketball player. During the 2006 season, he played for the Blue Stars of Lebanon's WASL Club League. .

However, Vaught, who was held to two points and halftime and came within a deuce of his fourth straight 20-point game, drained a 20-footer with 1:25 left to give the Clippers the lead for good.

``If we had lost that game, I would have killed myself,'' Sealy said. ``Anyway, we can't complain, a win's a win and we'll take it.''

With a key two-game stretch against Pacific Division rivals Sacramento and Phoenix, the Clippers are brimming with confidence - except Richardson, who is befuddled with how Fitch treats him.

``I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

what my role is,'' Richardson said. ``And I hope I get a chance to play like I can. If you want to see, look at my career averages (12.9 points, 7.5 assists) and you can see what I can do. All I need is a chance.''
