Clippers (13-14) update: The Clippers took a positive step on Wednesday with a 101-90 victory over Utah, after they had lost seven of eight. With Quentin Richardson leaving for the Phoenix Suns in the offseason, Bobby Simmons has become part of the Clippers' new ``Big Three.'' He, Elton Brand and Corey Maggette each scored 22 or more points against the Jazz.

San Antonio (23-6) update: This is the Clippers' first meeting with the Spurs, who added former Clipper Brent Barry this offseason and are expected to be one of a handful of teams vying for an NBA championship. For the past three seasons, the Clippers have gone 1-3 against the Spurs. Before that, San Antonio had a 14-game winning streak against them.
