L.A. has lost two straight games with a chance to move closer, blowing opportunities in the fourth quarter of both games. Rodney Rogers, who scored 30 points against Minnesota, will be the focal point of the offense. The rest of the team shot 30 percent against the Timberwolves. That needs to improve.

Nuggets (20-57) update: Denver's playing out the string, having lost forward LaPhonso Ellis to an Achilles' tendon injury. Antonio McDyess is the main weapon, averaging 18 points per game. The Clippers have also been hurt by the 3-point shooting of Dale Ellis, who made five in the teams' last meeting in Los Angeles.
