CLIPPERS VS. ATLANTA.

Tipoff: 3 p.m., Georgia Tech University

TV/Radio: No TV; KEZY-FM (95.9); K-LITE (92.7).

Clippers (1-7) update: A slumping team in a state of emergency heads to Atlanta, which is one of only two undefeated teams in the NBA. The Clippers' defense is awful, having allowed more than 100 points in four of seven games, including an embarrassing 130-96 loss to Charlotte on Saturday. Rodney Rogers is the only bright spot, having scored 73 points in the last three games.

Hawks (8-0) update: Atlanta is the hottest team in the league, with all five starters playing career-best ball. Steve Smith is averaging 20.2 points per game while Dikembe Mutombo, who has worked on his offensive game, is at a 15.9-point-per-game clip. . . . The Hawks are playing at Georgia Tech and the Georgia Dome until their new facility is completed next year.
