Thursday afternoon, happy to be the future of the Clippers. And afterward Clipper adversary David Falk David B. Falk (born 1950)[1][2] is an American sports agent who primarily works with NBA players. He is best known for representing sports icon Michael Jordan for the entirety of Jordan's career. , the agent for Miles and Richardson, talked about a new future between himself and the organization. ``I'm a person who always believes that you learn from your experiences,'' Falk said. ``I hope we all learned something and perhaps we can turn the page. It's a very positive day for the Clippers.'' Falk was at Staples Center as the Clippers introduced their three first-round acquisitions: the third pick, Miles, an 18-year-old high schooler; the 10th pick, Dooling, a 20-year-old point guard out of Missouri, and, the 18th pick, Richardson, a 20-year-old swingman swing·man n. Seeing Falk in the same room at such an event, let alone talking about working with the Clippers didn't seem likely last February. That's when a deal to send free-agent forward Maurice Taylor to the New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of Knicks fell through. Falk blamed the Clippers. The Clippers blamed Vancouver, a third team in the proposed deal. ``I think the Taylor situation is unfortunate,'' Falk said. Falk described the relationship between the two sides as ``cantankerous can·tan·ker·ous adj. 1. Ill-tempered and quarrelsome; disagreeable: disliked her cantankerous landlord. 2. .'' But the detente dé·tente n. 1. A relaxing or easing, as of tension between rivals. 2. A policy toward a rival nation or bloc characterized by increased diplomatic, commercial, and cultural contact and a desire to reduce tensions, as through appears mutual. Elgin Baylor, Clippers vice president of basketball operations, said he is looking past the Taylor situation. ``That's the past,'' Baylor said. ``This is the future.'' Baylor added: ``The players weren't drafted because David represents them. The players were drafted because they are talented players. Dave and I have a good relationship. We've always had a good relationship.'' The players said they want to be together and on the Clippers. They spent the new conference laughing and joking in front of the Los Angeles media. Miles, who had never been to Los Angeles before, said Falk's past relationship with the Clippers hasn't impacted his opinions. ``We're happy, . . . and (Falk) wants us to be happy because we're his clients,'' Miles said. ``I would love to rebuild. . . . It shows how strong I am.'' Falk said a key in the rebuilding process is the selection of a coach. Falk lobbied for John Lucas, Falk's first client and a No. 1 draft pick in 1976. ``He's got tremendous energy,'' Falk said. ``I think he is very close to (Lamar) Odom as well. I think as a former player and a number-one pick in the draft, and a thinking man's point guard, he will be an outstanding coach.'' Baylor said he has received and expects to receive more interest in the coaching opening since the Clippers moves. But he stopped short of saying he is restarting the selection process. The top candidates so far are Lucas and Clippers assistant coach Dennis Johnson. Without a new coach, Falk said both Miles and Richardson will play summer league in Chicago and not with the Clippers. As Falk left, he came over to Baylor and the two shook hands and appeared ready to work together. ``I'm really fond of Elgin, and I hope that Donald Sterling seizes the opportunity Elgin has created to make this a positive change,'' Falk said. ``Only time will tell, but this is a very strong first step.''
