CLIPPERS NOTEBOOK : NO GENIUS ON FITCH'S PART.

Byline: Gary Washburn Daily News Staff Writer

Some bad food may have helped Clippers coach Bill Fitch William Fitch (born May 19 1934 in Davenport, Iowa) is a former NBA coach who has been successful in making teams playoff contenders throughout his coaching career. Before entering the professional ranks he coached college ball at the University of Minnesota, Bowling Green State  discover a new lineup for the crucial Game 3 of the Western Conference playoffs against Utah on Monday.

Malik Sealy Malik Sealy (February 1, 1970 – May 20, 2000) was an American professional basketball player from 1992 until his death in an automobile accident. Sealy played eight seasons in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Detroit Pistons, and the Minnesota  suffered from food poisoning food poisoning, acute illness following the eating of foods contaminated by bacteria, bacterial toxins, natural poisons, or harmful chemical substances. It was once customary to classify all such illnesses as "ptomaine poisoning," but it was later discovered that  at halftime of Game 2 on Saturday and didn't play in the second half. That forced Fitch to start Brent Barry Brent Robert Barry (born December 31, 1971 in Hempstead, New York) is an American professional basketball player currently with the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. He is known by his nickname, "Bones", and stands 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m). . The duo of Barry and Darrick Martin Darrick David Martin (born March 6, 1971 in Denver, Colorado, United States) is an American professional basketball player, currently with the NBA's Toronto Raptors. Martin has became known as a solid veteran who provided quality minutes as a reserve, maintaining a career free  helped the Clippers make a 30-12 run to take the lead.

The Clippers couldn't hold on, losing 105-99. But with Barry and Martin on the court, the game's flow changed.

At 6-foot-6, Barry forced 6-3 Jeff Hornacek Jeffrey John Hornacek (IPA: /ˈhɔrnəsɛk/); (born May 3 1963 in Elmhurst, Illinois) is a retired American basketball player who played at the shooting guard position in the NBA from 1986–2000.  into some bad shots. Hornacek finished just 3-for-10 shooting for 11 points. John Stockton This article is about the professional basketball player. For the U.S. Senator from New Jersey, see John P. Stockton.

had 15 at halftime but just three in the second half. Stockton and Hornacek combined for 3-of-13 shooting in the final two quarters.

Barry left the game after the third quarter and did not appear until five minutes left with the Clippers down 93-85. However, his play did encourage Fitch.

``That combo worked well together,'' Fitch said. ``We'll definitely go with that (in Game 3). Brent played well and I was impressed with some things he did out there.''

Barry saw first-hand the difference between an experienced playoff team and an inexperienced squad down the stretch. But he was not overly impressed with the Jazz's execution.

``We heard all (Utah's) excuses about the last game,'' Barry said. ``And they finished with season highs in a bunch of categories. We learned we can play with the best in the West. We're getting closer.''

Add Sealy: The guard did not even take off his uniform, laying on a cushioned table in the locker room after the game, wrapped in a blanket with his warmups on.

Sealy responded after a 4-for-12 effort on Thursday by hitting 5 of 7 shots for 12 points, taking advantage of the matchup with Hornacek.

What now? The Clippers aren't sure of the reception they'll get when they return home for Monday's game. The Sports Arena is not sold out. It will definitely be a difference from the 19,911 screaming Utah fans who showed up for both games here.

It will be the first Clippers home playoff game in four years. Strangely enough, the final two regular-season home games were sellouts.

``I don't want to be embarrassed by the turnout,'' Fitch said. ``I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)
