CLIPPERS NOTEBOOK: PARKER CHOICE SIMPLE CLIPPERS, G. ST. LATE GAME.

Byline: Joe Stevens

Staff Writer

The Clippers' desperation for a point guard brought them to a situation coach Mike Dunleavy Mike Dunleavy is the name of two notable persons in basketball, father and son:
  • Mike Dunleavy, Sr. is a former NBA player and is the current coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.

 considered a no-brainer.

"You got a choice between Smush Parker William Henry "Smush" Parker (born June 1 1981, in New York, New York) is an American professional basketball player, currently with the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association.[1] Parker played shooting guard in college, but moved to point guard in the NBA.  or the NBDL NBDL National Basketball Development League

So the Clippers signed Parker for the rest of the season last week in the midst Adv. 1. in the midst - the middle or central part or point; "in the midst of the forest"; "could he walk out in the midst of his piece?"

After playing two full seasons with the Lakers, Parker had limited minutes with the Miami Heat The Miami Heat (known as the HEAT [in all capital letters] on official team publications) are a professional basketball team based in Miami, Florida, United States. They play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). , who waived him two days before the Clippers signed him. Apparently, Parker did not fit with the Heat. He only played in nine games with them.

What are his expectations with the Clippers?

"Everybody knows this is a tryout for next year," Parker said. "So I'm just trying to take full advantage and try to prove to the Clipper organization that I want to be a part of this team because there's a good group of guys here when everyone's healthy."

Brand not definite

Before the Clippers left on their five-game trip, Elton Brand and Dunleavy both said they definitely expected the power forward to play this season. The problem now, though, is Brand has not had ample time to practice with his team.

So Dunleavy hedged his "definitely" statement about whether the player recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon Achilles tendon

"If I were to bet, I'd bet that he does play this year, opposed to him not playing," he said.
