PHOENIX - Corey Maggette Corey Antoine Maggette (born November 12 1979, in Melrose Park, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player, positioned at small forward for the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers.  returned to the Clippers' lineup Friday after more than a month of jumping rope and lifting weights while recovering from an injury much more quickly than expected. Fowlkes used to have longer hair and not too long ago, could wear braids. This is the first time in about a year that he's shaved his head, and he did so after two games in which his counterparts, the Suns' Shawn Marion and Kings' Gerald Wallace, had big nights.

``I had to do something that's a good luck charm,'' Fowlkes said.

Clippers (37-36) update: This is a key game for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Clippers are 3 1/2 games behind the Jazz for that slot. After losing three consecutive games, the Clippers recovered Friday night with a 96-94 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Utah (40-32) update: Winning two consecutive games, the Jazz most recently blew out the Cleveland Cavaliers 112-91 on Thursday. The Jazz have beaten the Clippers twice this season, but the teams haven't met since Dec. 7, when the Jazz dismantled the Clippers 102-86 at Staples Center. Utah has beaten the Clippers 12 consecutive times.
