Byline: Joe Stevens Staff Writer

An unexpected resource - Eric Murdock Eric Lloyd Murdock (born June 14 1968 in Somerville, New Jersey, U.S.) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Utah Jazz in the 1st round (21st overall) of the 1991 NBA Draft.  - helped the Clippers end a 10-game losing streak.

Starting his fourth game in row, Murdock had season highs with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Clippers over the visiting New Jersey Nets 98-93 before 13,769 Saturday night at Staples Center This articlearticle or section has multiple issues:

New Jersey's Stephon Marbury Stephon Xavier Marbury (born February 20, 1977 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American professional basketball player, currently playing point guard with the New York Knicks. Marbury was an NBA All-Star in 2001 and 2003 and an All-NBA Third Team member in 2003.  had a chance to tie it at 95 in the last 16 seconds. However, Marbury turned the ball over to Tyrone Nesby Tyrone Lamont Nesby (born January 31 1976 in Cairo, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player.

Undrafted from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Vincennes University, he played with the Los Angeles Clippers from 1998-2000, and with the Washington Wizards
, who passed to Lamar Odom Lamar Joseph Odom (born November 6 1979, in South Jamaica, Queens, New York) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays power forward (also plays both forward spots and is a "point-forward") for the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Lakers.  before Nesby dunked in transition to end the game.

It only would have been a more fitting exclamation point if Murdock were connected. Murdock's task was especially hard because his counter-point guard was Marbury, who was coming off a career-high 42 points Thursday at Vancouver.

Marbury shot 7 of 15 for 23 points and seven assists. It wasn't an inept line score, but it was far from Marbury's best.
