Everything's cool: Stanley Roberts said Saturday his mind his completely on basketball after his new-born son Stanley Jr. was released from the hospital on Friday.

Roberts' son, weighing nine pounds, 13 ounces at birth, had trouble breathing after being born with the ambiblical cord wrapped around his neck.

Stanley Jr. was having seizures, making his father very concerned.

``It was tough,'' Roberts said. ``I wanted to be around him all the time.''

Roberts Jr. has received medication for his seizures and appears to be healthy.

``Now I'm ready,'' Roberts said after a workout on the StepMaster. ``The family's OK and I'm getting myself into shape.''

During full-contact scrimmage on Friday, coach Bill Fitch made Roberts run wind sprints. Roberts does not know when he'll return to the court or full-contact scrimmage in practice. However, he did say he'll be ready by the season opener.

``I'll play when they let me play,'' Roberts said. ``I'm waiting on them. I've just got to keep going and working.''

Barry update: Guard Brent Barry participated in the pregame shootaround despite having a cast on his left (non-shooting) hand because of a sprained thumb ligament. Barry will be examined Monday to determine the extent of the damage and his absence.
